These colorful stones from a local river here in Alaska could be what you are looking for. These stones are very unique as they have tumbled down a river that flows through extinct volcanoes. Many are of volcanic origin. All hand picked from the river beds. Unwashed.

You will receive random stones in various sizes and colors. They will be slightly different than those in the photos. Each batch contains 2 pounds of rocks. Number of stones per set varies due to size/thickness. Average size range is .75" to 2”. These are probably too small for writing messages, but may work for names.
