By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify and create descriptive language and use it to express themselves in their writing. Students will learn to exchange common adjectives for more descriptive phrases and words.
I have been an English teacher for the past 4 years, and I am an avid reader as well as writer. My bachelor's degree is in English; Creative Writing from California State University San Bernardino. I have read all seven Harry Potter novels multiple times and have used them in lesson plans many times as great examples.
It would be advantageous if the student has read Harry Potter previously, but is not expressly needed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
